[ARCHIVED] Sheriff’s Warrants Team Apprehend Man Wanted for Armed Robbery

On October 10, 2017, members of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Team and U.S. Marshals Service - Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force (USMS-GLRFTF) apprehended Michael L. Scott, 25, of the 2400 block of Jackson Street, Waukegan.  

Scott, a documented street gang member had an active felony arrest warrant for Armed Robbery and Aggravated Battery, as well as a second active felony arrest warrant for Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon ($500,000.00 bond on each arrest warrant - $1,000,000.00 total).  The warrants were obtained by Zion Police Officers on October 6, 2017, following an armed robbery and subsequent investigation by the Zion Police Department.  

On October 5, 2017, Scott fled from Zion Police Officers and Zion PD requested the assistance of Deputy Dwight Arrowood and his K-9 partner, Duke.  Duke conducted a track, following the path Scott took when fleeing from Zion Police Officers.  K-9 Duke and Deputy Arrowood located a loaded firearm while conducting the track of Scott.

Following the issuance of the arrest warrants, members of the Lake County Sheriff’s Warrants Team developed information indicating Scott was hiding at a residence in the 500 block of South Martin Luther King, Jr. Ave, Waukegan.  On October 10th, members of the Sheriff’s Warrants Team along with Waukegan Police Officers apprehended Scott inside the South Martin Luther King, Jr. Ave address.

Scott was transported to the Lake County Jail where he remains held on $750,000.00 bail.  He is due in court on October 30, 2017 at 1:30PM in courtroom C-120.

Sheriff Curran reminds the public the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
