On October 7, 2017, at approximately 6:30AM, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a traffic crash with injuries in the area of Rollins Road and Wilson Boulevard, Ingleside. When Sheriff’s Deputies arrived, they located a 1998 Dodge Ram Pick-Up with extensive damage.
Preliminary investigation shows the driver of the Dodge, a 52 year-old man of Ingleside, was traveling eastbound on Rollins Road, approaching Wilson Boulevard. For an unknown reason, he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. He drove off the north side of the road and struck a tree. Due to the extensive damage to the Dodge, it took approximately one hour for fire/medical personnel to extricate the man from the vehicle.
The man was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, where he was pronounced deceased. His identity is being withheld pending next of kin. The nature/cause of his death remains under investigation by the Lake County Coroner’s Office.
The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
