On September 12, 2017, at approximately 10:30AM, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of shots fired in the area of North Addison Lane and Route 173, Antioch Township. Sheriff’s Deputies arrived and located evidence of a shooting, however nobody was struck by the gunfire.
Lake County Sheriff’s Detectives conducted an extensive investigation and determined Derrius L. Crenshaw, 23, of the 4700 block of South King Drive, Chicago, was responsible for shooting at the victims. The investigation revealed an altercation took place between two adult victims and Crenshaw at a business in the area of Route 59 and Route 173, Antioch. The victims fled the area and drove to Addison Lane. Crenshaw followed the victims to Addison Lane and opened fire on them. Neither victim was struck by the gunfire.
On September 22, 2017, Sheriff’s Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Crenshaw for Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm (Class 1 Felony). Crenshaw was arrested by the Chicago Police Department on September 24, 2017, and was transferred to the Lake County Jail on September 28, 2017.
Crenshaw remains held in the Lake County Jail on $250,000.00 bail. His next court date is October 5, 2017 at 1:30PM in courtroom C-120.
