LCDOT will be resurfacing MLK Jr. Drive from just east of IL 43 to the west edge of IL 131 in North Chicago and Waukegan. This resurfacing project will include the removal of the existing surface, the removal/replacement of existing curb sections, seal coating of the existing paved shoulder behind the curb and restriping of the roadway. Work is expected to begin in April with an estimated completion in June. Motorists will encounter daily lane closures throughout the project, but there should be at least one lane open to traffic in each direction during work. For your safety and the safety of the workers, please remember to reduce your speed and limit distractions when driving through a work zone.
