[ARCHIVED] Two Men Wanted on Weapons Charges Apprehended by Sheriff’s Warrants Team

On August 22 and August 23, 2017, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Team, in conjunction with the United States Marshals Service – Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force (USMS-GLRFTF) apprehended Kyle Q. Wright, 22, of the 1700 block of Grove Avenue, North Chicago and Darius M. Hill, 19, of the 2300 block of Joanna Avenue, Zion.

Wright and Hill had active felony arrest warrants for one count of Armed Robbery (Class X Felony), one count of Aggravated Battery with a Firearm (Class X Felony), and two counts of Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm (Class 1 Felonies).  Bond was set at $500,000 on both warrants.  The arrest warrants stem from an investigation conducted by the Zion Police Department regrading an incident which occurred on August 16, 2017.

On August 21, 2017, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Team began apprehension efforts for both Wright and Hill. During the course of the investigation, information was developed indicating Wright was staying at a friend’s residence in the 3000 block of Arthur Court, Waukegan. On August 22, 2017, Wright was apprehended without incident at this location by the Lake County Sheriff’s Warrants Team.

On August 23, 2017, members of the Warrants Team obtained information indicating Hill was aware of the arrest warrant and fled Illinois to avoid apprehension. Warrants Team Deputies located Hill in a trailer park in the 9000 block of Sheridan Road, Kenosha, WI. Upon making entry to the trailer, Hill attempted to flee from a window. He was successfully apprehended by members of the Warrants Team and USMS-GLRFTF.

Wright remains held in the Lake County Jail on $500,000.00 bail.  He is next due in court on August 25, 2017 at 9:00AM in courtroom C-120.

Hill was transported to the Kenosha County Jail where he remains held pending an extradition hearing.

Sheriff Curran reminds the public the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
