On August 1, 2017, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Team along with the U.S. Marshals Service - Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force (USMS-GLRFTF), apprehended Sherrod E. Abraham, 28, of the 2600 block of Cornelia Ave, Waukegan. Abraham, a documented street gang member, was wanted on a felony arrest warrant for one count of Aggravated Driving Under the Influence (Class 2 Felony), and three counts of Aggravated Driving Under the Influence (Class 4 Felonies). The bond on the warrant was set at $1,000,000.
The warrant resulted from a North Chicago Police Department investigation of a motor vehicle crash which occurred on April 21, 2017, and resulted in a death.
Abraham was arrested without incident at his residence in the 2600 block of Cornelia Ave, Waukegan, by member of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Team and USMS-GLRFTF.
Abraham was transported to the Lake County Jail where he remains held on $1,000,000.00 bail. He is next due in court on August 9, 2017 at 1:30PM in courtroom C-120.
