On July 12, 2017 at approximately 2:38PM, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to 1760 Sunnyview Road, unincorporated Libertyville for a report of an explosion.  When sheriff’s deputies arrived they found the home sustained major structural damage.  

Libertyville Fire Department officials led the incident response.  Preliminary information indicates there were no injuries sustained during the explosion.  Area residents can return to their homes.  Westbound Route 137 in the area remains open.  Eastbound Route 137 in the area is reduced to one lane.

The incident remains under investigation by the Libertyville Fire Department.  Lake County Sheriff’s Detectives will assist fire officials with the investigation.
