On July 11, 2017, members of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Team, U.S. Marshals Service – Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force (USMS-GLRFTF), and USMS-Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force (GCRFTF) apprehended Burkett A. Davidson, Sr., 46, of the 800 block of Adams Street, Waukegan.
Davidson, a documented street gang member, had two active Lake County arrest warrants for Aggravated Robbery (Class 1 Felonies – both warrants issued regarding investigations conducted by Waukegan Police Department – total bond amount $350,000.00).
The arrest warrants for Davidson were obtained in September of 2016. Initially, it was believed Davidson was residing in the Waukegan area. After further investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Warrants Team and USMS-GLRFTF, it was determined Davidson fled Waukegan to avoid apprehension.
Information was developed indicating Davidson was hiding at a family member’s residence in Mobile, Alabama. Members of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office worked with USMS-GCRFTF, to develop a plan to apprehend Davidson.
On July 11, 2017 members of USMS-GCRFTF and local Mobile law enforcement attempted to apprehend Davidson at a residence in the 4100 block of Burma Road, Mobile, AL. Davidson initially attempted to hide inside the residence but was arrested without further incident.
Davidson remains held in the Mobile (AL) County Jail pending extradition to Lake County on the warrants.
Sheriff Curran reminds the public the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
