The Illinois State Board of Elections (SBOE) reports that a request for voter information was received from the Commission on July 5, 2017. The Board will consider this request and determine its response at its August 22, 2017 meeting.
In the meantime, voters should be aware that the Illinois Election Code provides that voter name, registration and history data records are available for public inspection.
Further, the statute also requires all election authorities—including the Lake County Clerk’s Office—to submit voter registration and update data regularly to the SBOE’s state-wide data base. And, it is the SBOE that has received and will respond to the request for voter information.
To date, our responses to requests for voter registration and update data have not included such information as driver’s license and social security numbers.
We will update this website as we get new information.
