On June 8, 2017, the Lake County Sheriff’s Gang Task Force concluded an undercover operation into the sales of heroin, which resulted in the arrest of Keith A. Knigge, 40, of the 34600 block of North Gerberding Avenue, Ingleside.

On several occasions, Knigge sold heroin to undercover Gang Task Force Detectives. He was arrested on June 8th, after one of the heroin sales to an undercover detective. Knigge was subsequently charged with three counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver (class 1 felonies), one count of unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver (class 2 felony), and four counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance (class 4 felonies).

Knigge was also on probation for possession of a controlled substance, stemming from a February arrest.

Knigge remains held in the Lake County Jail on $100,000.00 bail. His next court date is July 5, 2017 at 1:30PM, in courtroom C-120.

Sheriff Mark Curran said, “The members of the Lake County Sheriff’s Gang Task Force will continue identifying and arresting drug dealers throughout the county. We must continue working together as a community to suppress the heroin epidemic we are facing.”

Sheriff Curran reminds the public the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
