The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce the hiring of Jonathan Petrillo as Chief of Administration.
Jonathan recently retired from the Vernon Hills Police Department as a deputy chief, after 24 years of service. He held many ranks throughout his career with the Vernon Hills Police Department, including: patrol officer, detective, corporal, sergeant, commander, and deputy chief.
Jonathan served in the 82d Airborne Division of the United States Army from 1985-1989 and the Illinois Army National Guard from 1989-1993. He holds a Master of Science and Organizational Leadership Degree from Dominican University. Jonathan is a graduate of Northwestern University’s School of Police Staff and Command, Executive Management Program, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s National Academy.
In his new role as Chief of Administration, Jonathan will oversee all the administrative divisions of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. These divisions include: court security, warrants, civil process, records, community services, training, and judicial sales.
Sheriff Mark Curran said, “Chief Petrillo will make a great addition to our administrative team at the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. He has a very successful career track record and he will continue ‘raising the bar’ at the sheriff’s office.”
Undersheriff Ray Rose said, “Chief Petrillo’s knowledge and leadership style are on par with the core values of the sheriff’s office. His administrative experience will be valuable in his new role as Chief of Administration.”
