On April 16, 2017 at approximately 3:40PM, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence for a ‘man with a gun’ call in the 33600 block of North Forest Drive, unincorporated Grayslake. Sheriff’s deputies arrived and learned Devon LeRoy, 35, of the same block, was involved in a disturbance with his neighbors. During the disturbance, Leroy displayed a realistic-looking BB gun, while threatening the victims.

LeRoy was arrested by sheriff’s deputies at his residence. During their investigation, sheriff’s deputies discovered LeRoy was in possession of over 20 marijuana plants, which were growing in his basement.

LeRoy was subsequently charged with production of cannabis (class 3 felony), possession of cannabis with the intent to deliver (class 4 felony), and aggravated assault (class A misdemeanor).

He was transported to the Lake County Jail and released after posting 10% of his $15,000.00 bail. LeRoy is due in court on April 25, 2017 at 9:00AM in courtroom C-120.

Sheriff Curran reminds the public the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
