On April 10, 2017 at approximately 1:10AM, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to Route 120 at the ramp eastbound for I-94, unincorporated Waukegan, for a traffic crash with injuries. When sheriff’s deputies arrived they located a 2007 Buick Lucerne with major damage.

Preliminary investigation shows the 2007 Buick Lucerne was traveling eastbound on Route 120, approaching the tollway. According to witnesses, the driver of the Buick, a 25 year-old man of Burlington, Wisconsin, was traveling at a high rate of speed. The driver attempted to veer onto the ramp for eastbound I-94 when he lost control of his car. The Buick rolled and the driver was ejected. He suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash is being investigated by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit. The Illinois State Police assisted at the scene.

The identity of the driver is being withheld pending notification of next of kin by the Lake County Coroner’s Office.
