On April 1, 2017 at approximately 2:00PM, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the area of Washington Street and White Oak Lane, unincorporated Gurnee, for a traffic crash. Sheriff’s deputies arrived and found one of the drivers involved in the crash, a 23 year-old man from Sheldon, Illinois, unresponsive.
Sheriff’s deputies ascertained the man was suffering an opioid overdose. Deputies administered two doses of Naloxone, and the man regained consciousness. He was transported to a local hospital where he’s expected to recover.
There were no injuries as a result of the crash. The crash remains under investigation and charges are possible.
This is the 11th life saved to opioid overdose by Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies, just this year.
