On March 22, 2017 at approximately 1:50PM, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 6000 block of September Boulevard, Long Grove, for a report of a possible burglary in progress. One of the homeowners was at the home and heard glass shatter.
Sheriff’s deputies arrived and found the front door was damaged, along with shattered glass on the ground. A short time later, sheriff’s deputies located Michael J. Lamendella, 52, walking in the area. Lamendella is also of the 6000 block of September Boulevard.
Sheriff’s deputies and members of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Crisis Intervention Team arrived and spoke to Lamendella. Following the conversation, it was determined Lamendella was responsible for throwing a brick through the glass.
Nobody was injured during this incident and this appears to be an isolated incident.
Lamendella remains held at the Lake County Jail on one count of criminal damage to property (class 4 felony) pending a bond hearing on March 23, 2017 at 9:00AM in courtroom C-120.
Sheriff Curran reminds the public the defendant is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
