On March 22, 2017 at approximately 2:50PM, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the area of Peterson Road and Behm Lane, unincorporated Grayslake, for a traffic crash with injuries. Sheriff’s deputies arrived and located three vehicles with extensive damage.
Preliminary investigation indicates a 2011 Chrysler minivan, driven by a 74 year-old woman of Grayslake, was traveling eastbound on Peterson Road and attempted to make a left turn onto Behm Lane. The Chrysler was struck on the passenger side by a westbound 2003 GMC Sierra, driven by a 45 year-old man of Wauconda. There was a 77 year-old man of Grayslake, in the front passenger seat of the Chrysler.
The front-end of a 2002 Honda Civic, driven by an 85 year-old woman of Grayslake, was struck following the first collision.
All of the occupants in the Chrysler and GMC were transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. The passenger in the Chrysler was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
An autopsy will be conducted on March 23rd, by the Lake County Coroner’s Office.
The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigation Unit.
