On March 7, 2017, the Lake County Health Department announced an official mumps outbreak after a third case of mumps was confirmed at Barrington High School in Barrington, Illinois. The Communicable Disease program continues to monitor suspected and probable cases of the disease in the county and is working closely with school district officials to prevent the spread of the disease.  The Health Department will post an official count of mumps cases every week day by 4:30 p.m.
