On February 24, 2017, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Team in conjunction with the U.S. Marshals Service – Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force (USMS-GLRFTF) learned the whereabouts of wanted fugitive, Timothy R. Adams, 34, of the 2200 block of Kristan Avenue, North Chicago. Adams is a documented street gang member.
Adams had an active $500,000.00 Lake County Warrant for armed robbery and vehicular hijacking (warrant from a Waukegan Police Department investigation) and a $200,000.00 Lake County Warrant for unlawful possession of a controlled substance (warrant from a Metropolitan Enforcement Group investigation).
Members of the Lake County Sheriff’s Warrants Team learned Adams was likely hiding at a residence in Detroit, Michigan. The USMS-Detroit Fugitive Task Force was contacted and on February 24th, located Adams at a residence in Detroit, where he was taken into custody without incident.
Adams remains in custody at the Wayne County (MI) Jail pending an extradition hearing.
Sheriff Curran reminds the public the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
