On February 16, 2017,  members of the Lake County Sheriff’s Warrants Team and U.S. Marshals Service – Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force (USMS-GLRFTF) developed information on the whereabouts of wanted fugitive Xavier J. Thomas, 25, of the 3500 block of King Drive, Chicago. Thomas was wanted on a $75,000.00 warrant for kidnapping and aggravated domestic battery (initial charges originate from a Round Lake Beach Police investigation). He also had a no-bond failure to appear arrest warrant for manufacturing/delivery of cocaine (initial charges originate from an Antioch Police investigation).

It was determined Thomas was hiding at a house in the 4100 block of Beech Street, Island Lake. Members of the sheriff’s warrants team and GLRFTF located Thomas at the residence, where he was taken into custody without incident. While being taken into custody, members of the warrants team, with the assistance of Deputy Dwight Arrowood and his canine partner, Duke, located crack cocaine in Thomas’ bedroom.

A wanted 17-year-old was also located at the Beech Street residence. The 17-year-old was arrested and transported to the Hulse Juvenile Detention Center in Vernon Hills.

Thomas was transported to the Lake County Jail and additionally charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance (class 4 felony).

Thomas is due in court on March 8, 2017, at 1:30 PM in courtroom C-120.

Sheriff Curran reminds the public the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
