On January 27, 2017 Lake County Sheriff’s Detectives initiated a criminal investigation into the actions of Amanda L. Harris, 23, of Gurnee, regarding a report she was involved in a sexual relationship with a 15 year-old boy.

Sheriff’s detectives conducted a thorough investigation and found Harris had a sexual relationship with a 15 year-old boy on at least five occasions. These incidents took place during the month of January, at the boy’s home, during times when the boy’s family was not home.

Following the investigation Harris was arrested and subsequently charged with five counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse (class 2 felonies). She is currently being held in the Lake County Jail on $30,000.00 bail. Her next court date is February 8, 2017 at 1:30PM in courtroom C-120.

Sheriff Curran reminds the public the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
