On January 10, 2017 members of the Lake County Sheriff’s Warrants Team and the U.S. Marshals Service – Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force (USMS-GLRFTF) developed information of the whereabouts of a wanted fugitive. Sean M. Dowd, 23, of the 100 block of Nasa Circle, Round Lake, was wanted on $250,000.00 arrest warrant for violating the sex offender registration act (class 3 felony) and a $250,000.00 failure to appear warrant for aggravated criminal sexual abuse. Dowd avoided apprehension since October of 2016.
The developed information indicated Dowd was at an address in the 500 block of Archer Avenue, Waukegan. Members of the Lake County Sheriff’s Warrants Team and USMS-GLRFTF located Dowd inside the residence, in the basement. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Lake County Jail.
Sheriff Curran reminds the public the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
