On January 9, 2017 at approximately 8:43PM, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the area of Sheridan Road north of West Yorkhouse Road, Beach Park, for a traffic crash with injuries involving a pedestrian.

Preliminary investigation shows the pedestrian, wearing dark colored clothing, was crossing Sheridan Road from the west side of the road to the east side of the road. The pedestrian, a 54 year-old male, was struck by a northbound 2000 Chevrolet Silverado Pickup. The pedestrian was transported to Vista East Hospital with critical injuries. Shortly after arriving at the hospital he was pronounced deceased.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 62 year-old man of Kenosha, WI, was uninjured and is cooperating with the investigation.

The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
