On December 25, 2016, at approximately 4:15PM, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the 100 block of North Ravine Lane, North Barrington for an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) crash with injuries. When sheriff’s deputies arrived, they located a rolled over ATV with a critically injured subject.
Preliminary investigation shows an ATV driven by a 43 year-old male of North Barrington was traveling northbound on Ravine Lane, with a seven year-old passenger. While traveling northbound, the driver of the ATV swerved to avoid striking a dog, which caused the ATV to roll. Neither the driver nor the passenger were wearing helmets.
The driver of the ATV was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with life-threating injuries. The seven year-old passenger was treated on-scene by paramedics but was not transported to the hospital.
The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
