On November 27, 2016 at approximately 12:15AM, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the BP Gas Station located at 36044 North Route 45, in unincorporated Lake Villa, for an armed robbery.
The suspect, described as a dark-skinned male, approximately 5’04”, thin build, wearing a black North Face Jacket, black hat, black ski mask, blue jeans, and black gloves, entered the BP Gas Station at approximately 12:11AM. The male pointed a black handgun at the clerk and demanded money from the cash register. He fled the gas station after obtaining an undisclosed amount of money.
A canine team from Lake Villa Police Department responded and tracked the scent of the man to a nearby parking lot, where the scent ended.
Lake County Sheriff’s Detectives responded and continue to investigate the armed robbery.
