On November 18, 2016, members of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Team along with the U.S. Marshals Service - Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force responded to the 26800 block of West Cooney Island Drive, Ingleside, to assist Fox Lake Police Officers in searching for Craig S. Phillips, 20, of the 1400 block of North Fairview Lane, McHenry.
Phillips had an active Lake County arrest warrant for armed violence (class X felony). Additionally, he was wanted for questioning by the Fox Lake Police Department.
Members of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Team conducted a search of a residence in the 26800 block of West Cooney Island Drive, where Phillips was known to be. Sheriff’s deputies located Phillips hiding in the basement of the residence. Phillips was arrested by members of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Team and was transported to the Lake County Jail.
Phillips currently remains held at the Lake County Jail on $75,000.00 bail. His next court date is November 30, 2016, at 9:00AM in courtroom C-120.
Sheriff Curran reminds the public the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
