On November 8, 2016, at approximately 7:26PM, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the area of North Sheridan Road and West Beach Road, Beach Park, for a traffic crash with injuries. When sheriff’s deputies arrived at the scene they located a male pedestrian with fatal injuries.

Preliminary investigation indicates the male was attempting to cross Sheridan Road from the west side of the roadway, to the east side of the roadway. As the male crossed, he was struck by a northbound Chrysler 300. After being struck by the Chrysler, the male was struck by a northbound Chevrolet Pick-Up.

The pedestrian was wearing dark, non-contrasting clothing and the roadway in the area he was crossing was unlit. Both of the drivers were uninjured and are cooperating with the crash investigation.

The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
