On November 7, 2016, at approximately 1:55PM, a Lake County Sheriff’s Deputy located a single-vehicle traffic crash on Wilson Road, south of Route 120, in Unincorporated Round Lake.

Preliminary investigation indicates a 1994 Buick Regal, driven by a 17 year-old male, was traveling northbound on Wilson Road. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a roadway sign, utility pole, and a tree, before landing on its roof.

The driver of the Buick was transported via medical helicopter to Condell Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit. Crash investigators are working to determine the approximate time of the crash as well as the cause of the crash.
