In response to a media release issued by ‘FOP Lodge #66,’ the Lake County Sheriff’s Office wants to make it clear that ‘FOP Lodge #66’ is in no way, shape, or form, associated or connected with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. The press releases they continue to issue, along with their identifying themselves as the ‘Lake County Sheriff’s Police Fraternal Order of Police’ continues to be extremely misleading to the public.

The individuals behind these press releases have refused to cease associating themselves with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is pursuing action with the Illinois Attorney General’s Office.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office does not solicit money from the community by telephone or these types of events.
