On October 8, 2016, at approximately 8:35PM, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the area of Rollins Road and Blackhawk Avenue in Unincorporated Ingleside. Sheriff’s deputies arrived and found a pedestrian fatally struck by a vehicle.

Preliminary investigation shows Bonnie C. Tarkowski, 70, of Ingleside was walking eastbound on the north shoulder of Rollins Road. Tarkowski crossed the road, walking toward the south shoulder of the roadway, when she was struck by an eastbound 2006 GMC Yukon, driven by a 43 year-old Fox Lake woman. Tarkowski was fatally injured and pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the GMC was uninjured.

The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
