The SBOE reported in July that they had identified signs of unauthorized access into its State-Wide Voter Registration Data Base. Additional security measures were implemented and the ensuing investigation showed that no voting history information or voter signatures were captured and no data were added, changed or deleted – apparently only viewed. According to statutory requirements, the SBOE will be directly notifying all those individuals whose records were accessed. Consult the SBOE website www.elections.il.gov for additional information and an individual look-up feature.
It is important to note that this intrusion has not affected the Lake County Clerk’s Office Voter Registration data base.
