On September 25, 2016, at approximately 1:56 AM, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Green Bay Road and Taylor Lane, Wadsworth, Illinois, for a traffic crash with serious injuries.

Preliminary investigation shows a 2004 Nissan Altima, driven by a 24-year-old woman from North Chicago, Illinois, was traveling northbound on Green Bay Road. The driver of the Nissan exited the roadway into the ditch line and struck a tree on the west side of Green Bay Road. The driver became entrapped and rescue had to extricate.

The driver of the Nissan was transported to Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan and was pronounced deceased shortly after arriving.

The identification of the driver is pending the notification of family.

The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
