On September 24, 2016, at approximately 2:19 AM, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to Country Meadows (6360 Gilmer Rd) and Woodlawn Elementary School (6362 Gilmer Rd) Long Grove, for a report of a bomb threat.
The caller stated he wanted to blow up Country Meadows and Woodlawn Elementary School in Long Grove and indicated he wanted to blow up police departments within a 50-mile radius.
Sheriff’s Deputies responded conducting a systematic search around both schools and the property and did not locate anything suspicious. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office bomb K9 and his partner also responded to the scene conducting a search for explosives. They too were unable to locate anything suspicious.
Notification was made to school administration at both schools as well as surrounding police departments.
The Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division is continuing to investigate the threat. At this time, it is not believed that there is any danger to the schools.
