On August 13, 2016, at approximately 3:06 PM, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Deer Park Apple Store, 20530 North Rand Road, Deer Park, for a report of two suspicious people. Sheriff’s deputies were informed by Apple Store Loss Prevention the suspicious people matched the description of two individuals who committed previous thefts at the Schaumburg and Oak Brook Apple Stores.
Sheriff’s deputies arrived and located the two in a vehicle. After sheriff’s deputies made contact with the subjects, Gregory J. Ganci, 50, of Las Vegas, NV, and Jeri E. Duncan, 36, of Las Vegas, NV, deputies located two stolen Apple drones in their vehicle. Duncan was also found to be in possession of heroin. It was determined Ganci and Duncan have been involved in other Apple Store thefts throughout the United States.
Duncan was charged with two counts of theft-possession of stolen property (Class 3 felonies), possession of a controlled substance (Class 4 felony), and possession of drug paraphernalia (Class A misdemeanor). Duncan is currently being held at the Lake County Jail on $10,000.00 bail. Her next court date is August 24, 2016, at 9:00 AM in courtroom C-120.
Ganci was subsequently charged with two counts of theft-possession of stolen property (Class 3 felonies) and possession of drug paraphernalia (Class A misdemeanor). Ganci is currently being held in the Lake County Jail on $75,000.00 bail. His next court date is August 19, 2016, at 1:30PM in courtroom C-120.
Sheriff Curran reminds the public that the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
