Designated for 14 projects, the initial grant was estimated to provide benefit to more than 2,300 properties and 25 roadways across the county. Last spring, the construction of seven projects began in the communities of Antioch, Fox Lake, Highland Park, Lake Forest, Libertyville, and Libertyville Township. The DCEO grant funding also supports the final engineering of seven other projects set for construction this spring. 
Working with local community partners, SMC identified 52 additional project locations that are in critical need of infrastructure upgrades. Information on each of these projects can be found online at LakeCountyIL.gov/SMC. SMC will continue to work toward the completion of the remaining projects which are set for construction in 2023.
