On August 12, 2016, at approximately 11:18AM, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a traffic crash with injuries at Milwaukee Avenue and Casey Road, Unincorporated Libertyville. When sheriff’s deputies arrived they located a motorcyclist on the ground with critical injuries.

Preliminary investigation shows a 2016 Indian Motorcycle, driven by a 57-year-old man, was northbound on Milwaukee Avenue. The driver of the motorcycle attempted to make a left turn onto Casey Road when he was struck by a southbound 2014 Hino Box Truck, driven by a 46-year-old man. The driver of the motorcycle, who was not wearing a helmet, was ejected. He was transported to Condell Hospital via ambulance, where he was pronounced deceased. The driver of the box truck was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
