On October 10, 2022, at approximately 12:00 p.m. Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence in the 12700 block of West Beach Road, Beach Park, for a three-year-old child run over by a vehicle.  

Family members of the boy started CPR on the child and upon their arrival, sheriff’s deputies took over CPR until paramedics arrived.  The boy was transported to Vista East Medical Center in Beach Park with extremely critical injuries.  Unfortunately, shortly after arriving at the hospital, the child was pronounced deceased.

Preliminary investigation shows an adult family member of the boy was moving cars in the driveway, so other children could play basketball.  While backing a vehicle, the child rode his bicycle behind the vehicle and the family member did not see him.  She felt the vehicle strike something, stopped and exited the vehicle, and found her family member under the car.  

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit is on the scene and conducting an investigation.
