Lake County Sheriff’s Detectives concluded an investigation that led to the arrest of a registered violent offender against youth.
On August 26, 2022, sheriff’s detectives became aware of allegations that Mcred Valderama, 36, of the 24500 block of West Passavant Avenue, Unincorporated Round Lake, was having sexual contact with a juvenile family member. The allegations indicated this happened numerous times over several years. Sheriff’s detectives commenced an immediate investigation.
During the investigation, sheriff’s detectives obtained significant evidence substantiating the allegations. Sheriff’s detectives located Valderama at his residence and arrested him without incident the same day, on August 26th.
Valderama was charged with four counts of predatory sexual assault of a child (class X felonies), criminal sexual assault, and aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
Sheriff John D. Idleburg said, “We have zero tolerance for those who prey on our most vulnerable. I am proud of our detectives for their thorough investigation and rapid apprehension of this offender. We are hopeful the victim can begin healing from the abuse she endured.”
Valderama remains held in the Lake County Jail on $10,000,000.00 bail. He is due back in court on September 21, 2022, at 1:30 p.m.
All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
