On July 15, 2016, at approximately 10:28 AM, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Lake Barrington, in Lake Barrington for a report of someone struggling in the water.
Preliminary investigation shows a 73-year-old man from Lake Barrington was boating on Lake Barrington. While in the boat, the man lost his balance and fell into the water, and he wasn’t able to stay afloat. He was not wearing a flotation device. The man remained underwater for approximately 10 minutes. Wauconda Fire District launched a boat and was able to remove the man from the water.
He was transported to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital, in Barrington, where he remains in critical condition. Lake County Sheriff’s Detectives are on the scene, investigating.
