In January of 2022, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Cybercrimes Unit conducted an investigation into the suspected sharing of child pornography. The investigation resulted in cybercrime detectives obtaining a search warrant for a residence in the 38000 block of North Bayonne Avenue, Wadsworth.
The search warrant was conducted on April 12, 2022. Following the search warrant, subsequent investigation, and after a forensic examination of electronic devices possessed by Giovany S. Arias, 18, of the same address, detectives determined Arias possessed numerous videos of girls under the age of 13 engaged in sexual acts with adult males. It does not appear Arias recorded any of these videos himself.
Sheriff’s cybercrime detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Arias on April 13, 2022 for three counts of possessing child pornography. After hearing the facts and evidence in the case, a Lake County Judge set bond on the warrant at $350,000.00. Arias and his family are aware he is wanted, however, Arias is attempting to avoid apprehension.
