The Lake County Sheriff’s Office will conduct additional DUI enforcement during the St. Patrick’s weekend holiday.
From March 11 – March 18, 2022, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies will participate in a statewide traffic safety campaign. Additional sheriff’s deputies specifically assigned to traffic safety details will be on the streets throughout Lake County.
“Designating a sober driver, utilizing a ride-share, or calling for a taxi is always a must when intoxicated,” said Sheriff John D. Idleburg. “There is no excuse to getting behind the wheel intoxicated. Do not risk your life or the lives of others on the roadway – drive sober!”
The St. Patrick’s Day enforcement effort is made possible by federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
