The Lake County Sheriff's Office concluded its Super Bowl Traffic Safety Campaign, resulting in three DUI arrests, 20 speeding citations, and 11 seat belt citations.
The Super Bowl weekend Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over and Click It or Ticket enforcement effort ran from Friday, February 11, through the early morning hours of Monday, February 14, to keep impaired drivers off the roads and ensure more people buckle up and follow all traffic safety laws.
Sheriff John D. Idleburg said, “I am very serious about the safety of Lake County residents, and this includes all of those traveling on our roadways. This specific campaign might be over, but our sheriff’s deputies will continue to arrest those who make the poor choice to drive drunk or high.”
The Super Bowl enforcement effort was made possible by federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
