Sheriff’s Detectives Investigating Aggravated Vehicular Hijacking in Green Oaks

On November 27, 2021, at approximately 6:10 a.m., Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a business in the 14500 block of West Rockland Road, Green Oaks, for an aggravated vehicular hijacking that just occurred.

Sheriff’s deputies arrived and found the victim, a 42-year-old man, parked his vehicle to begin his shift at work.  When he opened the car door, he was quickly approached by two men. One of the men was armed with a handgun and struck the victim in the head and face with the handgun.  The men were described as African American, in their 20’s, and wearing black hooded sweatshirts.

One of the men entered the victim’s 2019 Kia Forte, bearing Illinois Registration BU47018, and drove away in an unknown direction.  The other man fled, likely in an escape vehicle.

The victim was treated by paramedics at the scene for the injuries he sustained, but he was not transported to the hospital.

Lake County Sheriff’s Detectives are investigating.
