Nearly all of the drugs were packaged for distribution.

Following the investigation, the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office approved the following charges for Johnson:

Four counts of aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon

Four counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute

Three counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance

Unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to distribute

Unlawful possession of cannabis

The above charges range from ‘class x felonies’ to ‘class 4 felonies.’

Sheriff John D. Idleburg said, “Our Special Investigations Group is doing an excellent job finding those who are trafficking guns, drugs, and people in our community.  I am very proud of the number of dangerous people they have arrested and the massive amounts of drugs they have been keeping out of Lake County.”

Johnson is due in court for an initial court hearing today.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
