SMC Updated Fee Schedule & PJD/BV Request Form Effective April 1, 2021

To: Enforcement Officers, Certified Wetland Specialists & Other Interested Parties

Re: SMC Updated Fee Schedule & PJD/BV Request Form Effective April 1, 2021

The Stormwater Management Commission (SMC) approved an updated fee schedule on April 1, 2021 – see  attached.  The most notable change to the fee schedule is the addition of fee-in-lieu of detention (“FIL-50”) in Category Codes 14010-14040.  Except for a nominal increase from $360 to 480 in the total fee for General Permit #2 (Category Code 20038), there are no other increases in this updated fee schedule.

SMC also updated the “Request for Preliminary Wetland Jurisdictional Determination (PJD) and/or Isolated Wetland Boundary Verification (BV)” form – see attached.  There are no review fee increases for a PJD and/or BV.  Notable changes in the updated form include: 1) the option to request a PJD for sites that contain only stormwater features constructed in uplands, such as detention basins or ditches, at a lower review fee of $360 for the 1st feature and $180 for each additional feature, and 2) the option to submit the PJD/BV request online via Lake County’s permitting portal, which will facilitate faster processing by SMC.

If you have any questions regarding the updated fee schedule, please contact our regulatory supervisor: Kelcey Traynoff at (847)377-7711 or  Any questions concerning the updated PJD/BV request form may be directed to our principal wetland specialists: Glenn Westman at (847)377-7718 or, or Juli Crane at (847)377-7708 or
