Fiscally Fit in 2021

Financial Well-Being
January 26th, 2:00pm
Disasters–Financial Preparation and Recovery. Learn how to save time, money, and stress when a disaster strikes by making financial preparations.
Fraud is Broad: Don't Get Scammed
February 3rd, 5:00pm
Financial fraud has been called “the crime of the 21st century”. With scams on the rise, awareness and prevention is the first step in protecting yourself. Learn from community bankers how to recognize and prevent common frauds, scams and other types of financial exploitation being used within your community.
Unclaimed Property: Leave no Stone Unturned
March 17th, 11:00am
Does the State of Illinois have money for you? Nick will walk you through the step by step process of searching for your name in the State of Illinois unclaimed property database.
Increasing Endurance: Borrowing Basics
April 12th, 9:00am
This session helps participants understand options for borrowing money and what they cost. It will also discuss how to borrow money.
Avoid these mistakes before buying a home! [Span] [Eng]
May 13th, 11:00am
This module will help participants get ready to own a home, finance the purchase and move forward! It will identify the steps in the home buying process, explains how to know if you are ready to buy a home, identifies ways to estimate how much you can afford for housing, describes home financing options and key costs and explains how to get prequalified or preapproved for a mortgage. If time allows it will also review where to get help if you're having trouble making mortgage payments.
Lose the Weight! Managing your Debt
June 9th, 11:00am
This session will help participants understand what debt is and how to manage it. It will also define debt and credit and explain how they differ, define phrases commonly used to discuss debt, provide strategies for reducing debit and explain the consequences of not paying debt. If time allows we can also review student debt, medical debt and high cost debt.
Fiscal Health: Credit Report and Scores
July 2nd, 2:00pm
This session helps participants understand, access and improve their credit reports and scores. It will also explain the importance of credit reports and scores, discuss ways to build credit, repair, improve and maintain credit and explains how credit scores are calculated. It will also discuss where to get help with credit reports and scores.

August 3rd, 12:00pm
This session will cover banking services and is designed to help participants build a positive relationship with a financial institution. It will describe financial products and services, provide information on selecting financial products, services and providers and explains the basic steps for opening and managing checking and savings accounts
