On June 5, 2016, at approximately 10:12PM, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to North Sheridan Road south of Suddard Place, in Beach Park, for a traffic crash with injuries. When sheriff’s deputies arrived, they found one driver was seriously injured.
Preliminary investigation, which includes witness statements, shows a 2009 Honda Civic was traveling southbound on Sheridan Road, from Wadsworth Road, in a reckless manner. As the driver of the Honda continued southbound, he rear-ended a southbound 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier, causing the Honda to roll.
The driver of Chevrolet, a 29-year-old man from Waukegan, was transported to Vista East Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the Honda, a 27-year-old man from Waukegan, was transported to Vista East Hospital, with critical injuries.
It appears alcohol was a factor in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
