On September 11, 2020, at approximately 1:07 PM, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a traffic crash with injuries in the area of Buckley Road (Rt 137) and Saint Mary’s Road in Green Oaks.

Sheriff’s Deputies arrived and located a car versus bicycle crash. A preliminary investigation revealed the driver of the vehicle, a 48 year old man from Round Lake Beach, was traveling west on Buckley Road and struck a bicyclist. The bicyclist, a 48 year old man from Lincolnshire, was riding his bicycle west along the curb. The bicyclist was wearing a helmet.

The bicyclist was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with critical injuries. The driver of the vehicle is cooperating with investigators.

The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Team.
