[ARCHIVED] Vaccinate to Protect Against Preventable Diseases

August is National Immunization Awareness Month. While the upcoming school year will look different this year due to COVID-19, the importance of keeping children up-to-date on their required vaccinations has not changed.

Vaccines give you the power to protect your family against serious diseases like measles, whooping cough, cancers caused by human papillomavirus (HPV), and pneumonia.

Immunizations are not only for children. Every year, thousands of adults in the U.S. become ill from infectious diseases that could be prevented by vaccines.

Talk to your doctor about what vaccines you need. Vaccination appointments are available at the Health Department’s Community Health Centers throughout Lake County. To schedule an appointment, please call (847) 377-8800.
