Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested three impaired drivers and issued 55 speeding citations during the recent Fourth of July “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” traffic safety campaign. Additionally, 55 seatbelt citations were issued in conjunction with the “Click It or Ticket” traffic safety campaign.
From June 15 through July 6, 2020, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office worked with over 200 other state and local law-enforcement agencies to arrest impaired drivers, encourage seatbelt usage, and keep our roadway safe. The effort featured high-visibility enforcement combined with a variety of outreach activities including a media campaign.
The enforcement period was funded by federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation as part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” programs.
