With the completion of the latest phase of renovations at the Lake County Jail, the new permanent public entrance is now located on the south side of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office at 25 South Martin Luther King Jr. Ave, Waukegan.  The previous entrance at 20 South County Street, Waukegan is no longer in service.  

Inmates being released from custody will be released at the new entrance.  Any professional visitors (attorneys, etc.) coming to the Lake County Jail (when COVID-19 restrictions are lifted) and those coming to post bond, should utilize the new entrance.  

Visitors who come to the jail to use video visitation will continue utilizing the entrance at 15 South Martin Luther King Jr. Ave (CBCC).
